What is Dragonball Z?

Dragon Ball was a manga (japanese comic) series that ran 42 volumes by the immensely talented artist Akira Toriyama (who also did the comic Dr. Slump and designs for the Dragon Warrior games, as well as designs for Chrono Trigger and Tobal No.1).
